Swimmers Reach Podium At Aquacougar

On Thursday, December 19th the Big Blue swim team competed at the Edgewood Aquacougar Invitational at Miami University.
The team lit up the board with big swims including sophomore Gabbie Wright who dropped 17 seconds in the 200 Freestyle and teammate Layal Johnson finished right behind her with a 6 second drop in the 200. Nicholas Cafarelli also dropped another 4 seconds in the 200 Freestyle. Senior Denise Salvador dropped 2 seconds in the 50 Free and 5 seconds in the 100 Free. Seth Vauter swam best times in both the 50 Free and 100 Free with a new time of 1:06.63 while Owen Bullard had a huge swim in the 100 Free with a new time of 53.97 and a second place finish overall. Lindsey Flenner captured a new personal best in the 100 Backstroke with a new time of 1:15.55 and a fourth place finish overall. Breaststrokers Sophia Mignery and Vishnu Vengala had big night with Sophia dropping 3 seconds in the 100 and a 3rd place finish overall while Vishnu dropped a whopping 11 seconds in his race.
The team will take a short break over the holiday and is back in action on January 4th at the Talawanda Brave Invite.
