Swimming Wins Medals To Start Season

Hamilton High School’s swim team participated twice this past week, competing Thursday against Fairfield and Harrison and again on Saturday at the Lawrenceburg Invitational.

On Thrusday, the Big Blue swim team battled Fairfield and Harrison at the Fairfield YMCA. The Girl’s 200 Medley Relay of Lindsey Flenner, Meghan Garry, Aryonna Blue, and Sophia Mignery touched out Fairfield for a second place win. Senior Lindsey Flenner won the Girls 200 Individual Medley while Senior Seth Vauter swam a personal best in the Men’s 50 Freestyle with a time of 29.62. Senior Owen Bullard also swam a personal best in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.92 for second place. Freshman Sophia Mignery swam a personal best in the Girl’s 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:25.62 also for second place.

At the Lawrenceburg Invitational on Saturday, December 7th, the Hamilton Swim Team lit up the board with personal best swims. Senior Nicholas Cafarelli swam a 2:25.63 in the Men’s 200 Freestyle and placed 2nd in the Men’s 100 Backstroke. Senior Owen Bullard won the Men’s 50 and 100 Freestyle out of a field of 20 swimmers. In addition, personal best times came from the following swimmers:
Camron Smith – 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle
Madison Gronas – 50 Freestyle
Jakob Moore – 100 Backstroke
The team has their first home swim meet at the Fitton YMCA on Thursday, December 12th against Harrison and Ross. Come out and show your support! Meet starts at 4:30pm.
