Girls Golf Teeing Off Well

On August 4th, Hamilton lost to Colerain in a match at Indian Ridge.  Hannah Baker started off the season strong with a 46 on the front nine, while Izzy Combs and Quinn Mills came in at 56 and 57.  The final score for the match was Colerain: 185 and Hamilton: 234.
On August 7th, Hamilton girls played Colerain, Oak Hills, and McAuley in a quad-match at Fairfield Greens South Trace.  The medalist for the match was Hallie Heidemann shooting a -1 34.  Other notable scores were Lauren Watkins from Oak Hills with a 43, Christen Ebner and Alex Schutte from Colerain with a 41, and Hannah Baker from Hamilton with a 50.  The final scores for the match were: McAuley with the winning score of a 179, Colerain in second with a 186, Oak Hills in third with a 217, and Hamilton in fourth with a 236.
Hamilton girls competed in the Sycamore Invitational with 20 other teams including Centerville, Ursuline, Mason, Sycamore, Lakota East, Springsboro, St. Ursula, Mount Notre Dame, Loveland, McAuley, Seton, Colerain, Kings, Milford, Lakota West, Oak Hills, and Fairfield.  Centerville won the tournament with an overall 18-hole score of 309 while Hamilton girls finished with an 18-hole total of 494.
Hamilton enjoyed its first victory of the season against Princeton on August 15th.  Ashley Schappacher earned the medalist title with a 44.  Other notable scores were Lileth from Princeton with a 48, Hannah Baker with a 50, and Izzy Combs with a 51.  The final scores for the match were Hamilton with 206 and Princeton with 251.
Tying their low for the season, Hamilton girls lost to Mason in a tough match at Indian Ridge on August 22nd.  Mason had all six girls shooting in the 40’s with Madison being the medalist.  Notable scores from Hamilton include Hannah Baker with a 48, Izzy Combs with a 50, and Ashley Schappacher with a 52.  The final scores were Mason: 165 and Hamilton: 206.
Hannah Baker enjoyed her first title as medalist on August 23rd when the Hamilton girls played Badin at Potter’s Golf Club.  Hannah Baker’s 46 lead the Hamilton girls.  Badin’s Katie Salerno was another notable score with a 48.  Badin defeated Hamilton 212 – 257.
On August 24th, the Hamilton girls traveled to Hamilton Elks to play Lakota West.  Abby was the leading score from West with a 44 and Hannah Baker lead Hamilton with a 49.  The final score was West: 191 – Hamilton 229.
The girls are currently 1 and 8 in their season.
