Varsity Baseball Swept By Indians But Holds Off Rams To End Regular Season

The Big Blue Baseball team finished their regular season over the weekend playing two conference games against rival Fairfield and a non-league game against rival Badin.

Hamilton faced the Fairfield Indians at home on May 3rd in a rainy, clod contest that had Hamilton battling back to threaten late in the game. However, it was not enough as they fell short 3-2. They then took on the Indians on Sunday where the game proved be another thriller. The Indians jumped out early 4-0 but Big Blue clawed their way back to make it a 4-3 ball game. Hamilton was powered by a two-run home run by Payton Pennington. However, they could not capitalize on a bases loaded situation in the 7th inning and lost the conference battle.

Also during the weekend, Big Blue took on the Rams of Badin in classic rivalry fashion at Alumni Field.

Hamilton jumped out of the gates hot and eventually built a nice lead over the host Rams. The Kellum brothers combined on a 5 hitter lifting Hamilton to a 7-3 victory.

Hamilton finished the regular season with a record of 11-15 overall and 7-11 in the Greater Miami Conference.

Hamilton is scheduled to play in the tournament today (Tuesday) at Anderson. This is weather permitting. If the game is canceled, it would be rescheduled to tomorrow.
