Hamilton’s Boys Basketball Team traveled to Talawanda last night for a midweek non league contest. Big Blue trailed early and tried to play catch up most of the first half as they went into half time down 7 points. The boys came out fresh in the third quarter dropping 11 points while holding the Braves to just 5. Hamilton built a lead up in the 4th quarter but squandered it late by not connecting at the foul line. Talawanda capitalized on the Big Blue errors and banked in a three point shot with seconds remaining while also getting fouled on the play. The 4 point play sent the game into yet another overtime (Big Blue’s 5th overtime period in less than a week). Hamilton dominated the overtime period coming out with a tough 62 – 57 victory.
Hamilton put three players into double figures: Myles Howard with 13 points and 15 rebounds; Tyrique James with 11 points, and Daniel Brunck with 11 points off the bench.
With the win, Hamilton runs its record to 6-6 overall and 4-3 in the Greater Miami Conference. They are back at home on Friday as they host top ranked Oak Hills.
