Hamilton’s Boys Basketball team was pushed to the limit and beyond on Friday night at Middletown. In a game that started with an early Big Blue lead and finished in a tie, Hamilton played with heart and integrity. Big Blue jumped to an early 13-2 lead after the first quarter before going into half time with a 21-14 lead. Hamilton owned the third quarter as well leading 35-23 after three complete quarters. Middletown stormed back in the fourth quarter commanding a lead with seconds remaining before Hamilton’s D’Marco Howard drained a three pointer to send the game to its first overtime.
During overtime, the game proved to be a titanic matchup of the county and conference rivals with both teams trading baskets and battling at the foul line. Eventually, Hamilton held on to win the game 74 – 72 in a near record 4 overtimes!
Hamilton was paced on the night by sophomore Jaylen Robinson’s 28 points. D’Marco Howard also had 13 points for Big Blue and Myles Howard tossed in another 12 points.
Hamilton is now 5-6 overall and 4-3 in the conference. They will play tonight (Tuesday) at Talawanda HS.
