Cross Country

XC Shines At Centerville

The Cross Country Team represented at the ‘Saturday Night Lights Invitational’ at Centerville High School on Saturday. Despite the final team outcomes, we had many personal accomplishments. Heading in the right direction, we had almost every single runner post a personal best time – having a drastic improvement from their previous races!

From the Boys varsity team: Freshman Austin Ryan took 73 and Sophomore Casey Hunter took 75 out of 206 runners. This race was considered to be one of the three fastest races in the state at that given time. The boys varsity did a great job on staying together with their teammates and pushing through the large competitive pack of runners.

From the Boys JV: Senior Jordan Bell lead the way for Big Blue to a earn himself a personal best time and a spot on the varsity squad. Freshman Aidan Whisman had the biggest personal best improvement of well over 6 minutes! These boys, similar to the varsity, did a great job on pack running and surging out of their turns.

From the Girls Varsity: Freshman Taniah Richards ran a personal best time of 22:47 and Freshman Meghan Garry ran a personal best time of 22:56. Improving their times by well over a minute! These two freshman girls are considered to be the fast female runners for Hamilton Cross Country within (at least) the last seven years – and they aren’t even close to their full potential yet!

We will be back in action on Saturday in Fairmont for the Neil Charske Firebird Invitational.
