Baseball Set To Honor 2001 Team Tonight

The 2001 Hamilton Big Blue Baseball Season was a memorable one.  It marked the last time that a Big Blue baseball team has reached the OHSAA State Final Four.  The team racked up Sectional, District, and Regional titles on their way to piling up a 26 – 8 record. The team made a deep tournament run – falling to eventual state champion Dublin Coffman in the semi-finals in extra innings.

Throughout the course of the season, this team was able to achieve the following accomplishments:

-A 26-8 record

-A GMC shared title

-It was the 18th time Coach Bowling’s team has reached 20+ wins

-They were crowned Sectional, District, and Regional champions

-1 of 4 regional championships, last for the 15 years

-Had tournament wins over LaSalle, St. X, and Elder and GMC rival Lakota West
