Over the weekend, the Hamilton High School Wrestling Team competed in the 2016 GMC Wrestling Championships that were held at Lakota East High School. The boys fought through some early adversity of not having an entire line-up and were still able to finish in the top 8 schools beating both Colerain and Middletown.
The boys were sitting in 4th place throughout most of the day but with wrestlers losing close matches during placement rounds the team placement dropped after the finals round. Three wrestlers however were able to walk away in the top three in the GMC. Daniel Ramirez came home with a silver medal losing to a tough Mason foe in the finals. Senior Eddie Collins and Freshman Mitch Vaughn were able to walk away taking third place. One highlight on the day was when Eddie Collins beat a returning state qualifier from Fairfield in the finals for third place.
Some of our wrestlers were able to avenge loses which they had earlier on in the season.
